Travel Data Center – A gizmo that goes in my trailer to automatically log miles traveled, locations visited, and other travel data to a Multimedia Card utilizing an AVR microcontroller and $20 GPS receiver. It will also know which time zone it's in and display local time anywhere in the CONUS. UPDATE: The PC board has returned and been stuffed, testing and software development proceeds. Stepper Motor Controller – An AVR driving FET bridges to control a 5-phase .72 degree stepper motor What for? Maybe numeric lathe controls, maybe a PV panel solar tracker, maybe moving my telescope; I'll think of something once it's working.
Smart Charge Controller – WB6ZQZ has designed a nifty AVR-controlled charge controller, but software development remains. My plan is to develop one for controling the charge to a wet cell nickel-cadmium battery, which has special charging characteristics most controllers can't handle.
Super-short Antenna Launcher – WB6ZQZ's computer model indicates that a launcher with the performance of the Trident can be built in a coaxial design about 12 inches long and 5 inches in diameter. We'll put the theory to the test.
